Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil popularly known as Vattayilachan, is an Indian Catholic priest from the Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palghat in India, known for his preaching and especially his evangelization through television, radio, and other mediums. He is the founder-director of Sehion Retreat Centre in Attapady, Kerala and Sehion Ministries, which is a part of the charismatic movement within the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church.
The television preaching programs called Abhishekagni in Shalom TV India and Maranatha in Jeevan TV are led by him. His new television series named Thunder of God has started telecasting in Shalom World TV(on Saturdays 9:30 – 10:00 PM Eastern Time) for English speaking community from 15 August 2015.Those programs are reported to have large number of viewers. The major initiative by him is called as Abhishekagni Convention which is conducted all over the world among Malayali Catholic communities.

Abhishekagni Conventions

Those are conventions, where the Word of God is preached under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil. This is one major ministry of Sehion Ministries. These conventions are mainly organised in major towns and cities around the world and reported to witness lakhs of participants. The main intention of these conventions is to make people aware of the power of the Word of God, the importance and the role of the Catholic Church, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Miracles are reported by many believers who attend these conventions. Multitudes of people come for healing and deliverance. Already many such conventions have been conducted in different parts of the world, like major cities in India, UK, United States, Australia and Europe and Middle East Countries.

Personal life

Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil was born in Pallikurup near Mannarkkad, Palakkad in 1969. He completed his high school from Pallikurup High school in 1984. In the same year he joined Seminary in the Diocese of Palakkad. He earned pre degree from University of Calicut in 1987. He graduated in Philosophy from University of Kerala in 1990. In the year 1994 he earned bachelor’s degree in Theology from St. Joseph Pontifical Institute, Aluva and was ordained as a priest in the same year. He was appointed as a parish priest in a small parish named Karara near Attappady in Palakkad district. It is a remote place and travel facilities were very limited during that time. He served as parish priest there for 3 years. During his service in Karara he met some anointed laypeople who were a great inspiration in his spiritual life. Father Vattayil also hosts retreats through Sehion Ministries.
